Artist Statement (Rough Draft)

My visual research is a deeper look into my personal relationship with television. Through this research I wanted to figure out what type of TV addict I am and how it effectes me. For my visual research I conducted an experiment in which I drew what my mind was thinking while watching my weekly television programs. These drawings are captured in the stop-animation displayed in the space. With these drawings (TV Diary) I came to the conclusion that I use the television medium as an escape. Through embroidery and textile design I created unique worlds that bring my TV Diary to life. With these embroidered pieces I hope to entice the viewers imagination and have them create stories of their own; just as the shows I have watched inspired me to imagine mine.
